Picking blackberries in Springfield, Oregon

We found these by the Willamette River and by the By-Gully Bike and Walking Path. They are sweet and super juicy. Bean made fruit salad and Ellie Krieger's coffee cake. Mmm.

From one gatherer to another, these are beautiful. There is nothing like sun-warmed berries straight from the plant.

Matt's mom lives near the Willamette...just outside of Portland. It's beautiful up there and your berries look gorgeous!

Maybe the number one thing about Oregon is the blackberries. They grew everywhere around my childhood home, and that was pretty much my diet staple all summer long in those days. Sigh... I miss it!
